C&G Law is representing Lamut-Asipulo Mini Hydro Corporation (“LAMHC”), one of the joint venture companies resulting from the investment of Markham Resources Corporation and Alternergy Mini Hydro Holdings Corporation, which is a special purpose company formed to operate, develop, and maintain run-of-river mini hydro projects along a stretch of rivers in the Province of Ifugao.
We are representing the client in proceedings before the Energy Regulatory Commission for authority to develop and own or operate dedicated point-to-point limited transmission facilities to connect the Lamut-Asipulo Mini-Hydroelectric Power Plant Project (“LAMHEPPP”), a 6.8MW mini hydroelectric power plant, to the Philippines’ Luzon Power Grid.
Obtaining approval would allow LAMHC to connect to the Luzon Grid the LAMHEPPP, a mini hydroelectric power plant which is included as an additional proposed generating plant in Luzon in the Philippines’ Transmission Development Plan (“TDP”) 2016 – 2040 and as one of the Indicative Power Plants in the Private Sector Initiated Power Projects in Luzon in the TDP 2016 – 2040. It is also included in the Department of Energy’s Luzon Indicative Power Projects in 2022. The construction and connection of the LAMHEPPP to the Luzon Grid will promote the use of renewable energy (hydropower) and help alleviate possible power shortages in the future.
The matter is lead by Partner, Sophia P. Inoturan.
