Rajah & Tann Singapore acted for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Singapore Branch (“HSBC”) in respect of the competition / anti-trust aspects of the proposed first-of-its-kind joint venture between HSBC and Temasek Holdings to establish a debt financing platform dedicated to sustainable infrastructure projects, with an initial combined capital commitment of approximately US$150 million.
This matter is significant as the parties intend to invest up to a combined US$150 million of equity to fund loans in the initial phase and dispense over US$1 billion of loans within 5 years.
