R&T Asia (Thailand) provided a complete and comprehensive examination of the PDPA compliance of Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (“CPF”) and its 17 subsidiary and/or associate companies, which operate integrated agro-industrial and food businesses in Thailand and internationally.
More than 15 PDPA experts and legal associates were allocated to perform a comprehensive data discovery exercise relating to internal processes, third parties, and systems to identify each company’s current personal data processing activities and compliance gaps.
We also worked closely with the companies’ PDPA working panel to develop a tailor-made gap analysis report, data flow charts, and to-do list for each company to ensure effective implementation of the PDPA in its organization.
Further, we prepared necessary documents, including privacy notices, letters of consent, and data processing agreements, for the companies to ensure compliance with the PDPA. Training sessions were also held to provide the companies’ employees with an understanding of the PDPA and necessary obligations.
CPF is a major Thai conglomerate with substantial investments in Thailand and overseas.
The matter was led by Partner Supawat Srirungruang and supported by Kittipol Chamsawarng (Associate), Pattarapond Duangkaewwutthikrai (Senior Associate) and Itthiwut Saengratanadej (Senior Associate).
