US$1 billion LNG infrastructure development project in the Philippines

C&G Law is advising FGEN LNG Corporation, part of the leading Philippine power generation group Lopez-owned First Gen Corporation group, on the various aspects of an over US$1 billion liquefied natural Ggas (“LNG”) infrastructure development project with onshore and offshore components.

The deal is significant because it involves the first offshore natural gas terminal project in the country.  It requires an in depth understanding of various aspects of Philippine law (e.g., contract law, energy law, maritime law, tax and trade law, environmental law) as well as engaging with various government agencies.

C&G Law has been assisting in negotiating and reviewing the transaction documents, such as the joint development agreement, the EPC contracts, time charter parties, and provided regulatory advice.

The matter is led by Partners Anthony Mark A. Gutierrez, Ben Dominic Yap and Deborah Sobrepena; supported by Roxanne Tadique (Partner), Andrea E. Katipunan-Leido (Partner), Karlo Jennuel Antonio, Justin Mark C. Chan (Associate) and Arvy Keith Chung (Associate).
